This unit integrates e-Safety education and community service in order to meet education goals and improve the community. Each lesson offers background information that enables students to demonstrate social responsibility by providing service to the community. They examine a mock-up of a website that reveals personal information, identify the types of information on the site, and conclude the safety risks. Lesson plans, coordinating PowerPoint presentations and student resource pages are separated by lesson to facilitate use in an online learning environment. Each lesson builds towards a culminating project. Students design a mobile “app” with privacy and safety features to protect users under age 13.
